Red Puckers

First of all I'd like to thank those five people who offered their inputs in my previous post(it's in my draft for a while). Those are simply written thoughts and your words, which i didn't expect, means a lot. Moving on to this day's entry-- In my desire to amass a red lipstick collection, here's a mini:-) I failed to include NARS Vesuvio tho. I know I'm too late because red doesn't represent the season but then again I'm digging red nowadays.
MAC RUSSIAN RED. This is one of the matte lipstick of Mac. This doesn't emit any weird smell and I salute its wear time-4 hours. I can eat a meal in between without the need to reapply right away. Matte as it is. It has the ability to suck your lips' moisture (you've been warned) . But because of my foray to lip conditioners, this became my most wearable red.

AVON PASSIONATE RED. This lipstick give a natural shiny finish.  This lipstick has a transparent jelly, which is a solid lip gloss, that houses the intense color at the core. It actually glides easily and is really moisturizing. I just have a slight problem with this product, since the color is located at the center, I am having a hard time in distributing the color on my lips--as evidence, refer to the swatch below. Faint floral smell as some bloggers claim it.

REVLON REALLY RED. Another drugstore lippies which was given to me by my best friend last last year. As you can see I've already hit the tube on this baby. This is my good-to-go lipstick before I had my hands on Mac. It's another matte lipstick which some claim as Ruby Woo's dupe.

What's your favorite Red lipstick SHADE and BRAND?

PS-- I'd like to apologize for a very unstructured review. I'm becoming a writing machine that writes every day. In as much as I'd like to wrap myself with blanket of words, my overloaded brain says, this for now. Ta-ta!

March Favorites

March took us away and now that April is in full swing, here's a neat way of recording the products I've been reaching last month, over and over and without fail since the time of purchase. This is my first monthly favorite post maybe because March is one of my favorite month? HAHAH. Anymoo let's get cracking.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coralberry. A dupe of MAC Vegas Volt. I bought this tree on a whim and a quick Google search surprised me that it is on Temptalia's dupe list. For me, this is a lighter pigmented dupe of VV, since it has more pink in it and VV, is more orange-y(to no surprise that it is an amplified formula). This is my coral lipstick for summer because its simply subtle and I love the fine shimmer in it. The only gripe I have on this is its tendency to settle on the lines of my lips after a while.

Nars Orgasm. Nars Orgasm (dismissing it as overprice and overhyped) has been on my lust list ever since. This is my long-time-crush-from-afar. And now, my HG blush. I gave this typical response blush on the question what's your favorite nars blush a go because of the aforementioned vibe. The shimmer it translates to my cheekbones is so worth the money! I am so in love with its soft sheen finish that makes my cheeks sculpt and healthy, not the typical powdery finish that irks me so much. The pan may be too small for its price but but but I'm telling you (not the in any niggling way) they are worth the money as they last for a long time and the quality is really lovely! And so with this, I'm shouting to the whole blogosphere. I'm planning to go overboard on the blushes of Nars. Awyeauh!

L'Occitane Hand Cream in Lavander. I've never a big fan of lotions. I only slather oil in my body like a lechon grilled to perfection after my bath as a thirst quencher to my flesh. But what about my hands? Being part of the healthcare team our hands is very much abused by hand washing (which I tend to do every minute; blame it to the OC me) and various procedures at work. Being an avid consumer of L'Occitane Shea Butter Soap (that leaves my skin a squeaky clean yet very soft, smooth and moisturized skin) trying this hand cream is never a question. And again, L'Occitane never ever failed me. This hand cream penetrates so instantly on my skin! so I guess, this is another living proof that God loves me so much. Lalwz. After a thorough hand washing and alcohol sesh, I just use this hand cream and my overused hands transformed like I've never felt it before. Even mon petit ami was so delighted whenever we would hold hands together. Say hello to a smoother and softer hands!

Burt's Bees' Intense Hydration Night Cream.  Thank God for samples! I once set these samples aside but I decided to give it another go. These baby, whose virtues I began to appreciate, are a true miracle worker for me due to an improvement in my skin. An all organic ingredient product that intense as it is, really leaves my face a wow-thanks-to-an-eight-hour-sleep feeling. Full-sized version wait for me!

Real Techniques Multi Task Brush. As part of the Travel Essential Kit brush that really stand out for me, it perfectly suited to the apple of my cheeks when Nars Orgasm is in action. This streak-free brush gives me a natural looking finish. No-brainer brush so perfect for blush, powder and even bronzer. I really fell in love with Real techniques brushes (not just because of its great quality and low-price) and I couldn't recommend them enough.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer. I do have extreme eye luggages, overweight when I have to check it in the airport and some pimple marks way back when I had a breakout due to constant switching of facial cleansers. This concealer provides enough coverage for the bags and help conceal those unwanted marks in my face. Even the redness on my nose area and blemishes that is slowly saying hello caused by too much sun exposure lately are targeted by this.

My De Facto Make Up Brush & Sponge Cleanser

Another 'ol spur-of-the-moment purchase last year is this Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Ultra Foam Cleanser. I actually was about to buy Neutrogena Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub (dubbed as one of bestcovery's top facial scrubs) but since its not available here locally, I decided to grab this cleanser. Just by its color, it  brightens my bathroom and  the scent is so sweet and fruity that really wakes me up in the morning. But then I discontinued using it after a month of religiously using it because it failed to tame my often unruly skin. Allegedly, it leaves my skin a clean feeling. I was about to give this to my cousin or aunt since then but my mom decided not to. Heck, fast forward to the point of this entry, I'm NOW using this as my brush and sponge cleanser. Can you believe it? Lalwz. Yeah that's me, always a curious cat. This pump dispenser was hidden behind my facial products, as if someone had squirreled it away back for safekeeping (moi guilty of doing this many times!). I decided to use this as a brush and sponge cleanser because my brushes are bristling over dirt. I don't wanna break a bank and prefer convenience so I use this gentle cleanser to my make up brushes and sponge. I just wet my brushes and sponge with the cleanser by just pumping a generous amount to them, and it will work into a lather. For my Real Techniques brushes, en particulier only one pump on each of the brush head (yeah just one) then I rinse them until the water ran clean. I tell you this stuff work great, it quickly dissolves every morsel of the makeup from the bristle of my brush. After air drying the bristles of the brush felt as soft as they did when they were new and they looked and even smelled clean (ah floral smell).

So if ever you're able to get your hands on this dispenser, hold on tight (don't give it away) and never let this go!

Since we are on the subject of make up brush and sponge cleanser, what do you use to clean your brushes and sponge if you're on a tight budget?
